Qatar Science and Technology Park (QSTP), a leading hub for technology-based innovation and entrepreneurship in the Middle East, has extended its partnership agreement with Cisco Qatar, a subsidiary of global technology firm Cisco Systems Inc.
The partnership, which was initially established in 2016, aims to foster innovation and drive digital transformation in Qatar through the development of cutting-edge technologies and solutions in areas such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, and the Internet of Things (IoT).
The renewed agreement will see QSTP and Cisco Qatar working together on several initiatives, including joint research and development projects, technology commercialization, and the promotion of entrepreneurship and innovation in Qatar.
In a statement, Dr. Maher Hakim, Managing Director of QSTP, said: “We are excited to extend our partnership with Cisco Qatar, which has been instrumental in driving innovation and digital transformation in Qatar. This partnership reflects our commitment to developing a thriving innovation ecosystem in Qatar, and we look forward to working together to bring new technologies and solutions to market.”
For its part, Cisco Qatar sees the partnership as an opportunity to showcase its expertise and capabilities in advanced technologies to the local market. “We are proud to extend our partnership with QSTP, a key player in the innovation and entrepreneurship scene in Qatar,” said Nasser Kettani, Country Manager for Cisco Qatar. “This partnership allows us to work closely with startups and entrepreneurs in Qatar, and leverage our global expertise to develop innovative solutions that address real-world challenges.”
The partnership between QSTP and Cisco Qatar is just one example of the growing collaboration between the public and private sectors in Qatar to drive innovation and digital transformation in the country. With its strategic location, world-class infrastructure, and entrepreneurial spirit, Qatar is well-positioned to become a leading hub for technology-based innovation and entrepreneurship in the Middle East.
