My love for dried flowers started about a year ago. When my boyfriend and I bought our first house, and we had Vivke the cat… I couldn’t imagine a house without flowers… So every two weeks I went to my favorite flower shop and bought lots of bouquets to enjoy at home…
Vivke loved these so much that she also ate them. Thank god for kitty gras but as you can see, I was never able to enjoy my flowers for a long time. They either faded very soon or were destroyed by Vivke. (oh but I still love you!)
I also pinned a lot of interior ideas for our home and I kept on seeing these beautiful feathery creations (I discovered the name Pampas grass just a few weeks later) that I absolutely wanted for our home. I found these in a pop-up store in Antwerp later, and my interest in dried flowers started growing. How cool is it that you can create bouquets and they last for months or even years? And Vivke has no interest in eating them so this looked like a match made in heaven. :)
I followed a little workshop and started creating small and larger dried flower bouquets. My collection kept growing and so did my knowledge about it. And here I am today, making small and big creations at The Dried Flower Bar in Bruges.
